Website Privacy Policy
Effective October 13, 2026.
This policy explains what calcbh.com collects and what happens to it. If you are our patient, your health information is also protected by HIPAA and California's Confidentiality of Medical Information Act, as described in our Notice of Privacy Practices. For your health information, the Notice of Privacy Practices controls.
What we collect and how it is used
- Forms you fill out. Your name, date of birth, contact details, insurance details, health history, signature and anything else you type. Your browser sends it over an encrypted connection straight to our practice's server on Google Cloud. It is saved to our practice's Google Workspace account and becomes part of your record with us. Google handles this information for us under a HIPAA business associate agreement. Our website host never receives what you type into a form.
- The chat assistant. The messages you type. They are sent to our server on Google Cloud, and Google Cloud's AI service (Vertex AI) writes the replies. The conversation is kept only in your browser window while it is open; we do not keep a transcript of the chat. If you ask for an appointment or a refill, the details you give are passed to our staff and become part of your record. Do not use the chat for emergencies.
- Text messages and calls with our automated assistant. If you text or call our automated assistant, your messages or call audio are carried by our phone and text-messaging provider and processed by Google Cloud's AI service to write the replies. Calls are transcribed and summarized for our staff.
- Information every website receives. When you load a page, our web host, Cloudflare, receives your IP address, your browser type and the page you asked for, so it can deliver the page and protect the site.
- Visit counts. Our home page alone uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits. It uses no cookies, and it does not run on our form pages or see anything you type into the chat.
- Security cookies. Cloudflare may set short-lived security cookies to protect the site from automated attacks.
- Hidden email address. To keep our email address away from spam robots, Cloudflare hides it in the pages that show it, and a small Cloudflare script displays it to you. The script does not run on our form pages.
- A note in your browser. When you submit a form, your browser keeps a note of which form you completed and when, so our New Patient page can show it as done. The note contains none of your answers and stays on your device. You can clear it in your browser settings.
- The map. Our home page shows a Google map of our office. When it loads, Google receives your IP address and may set cookies, under Google's privacy policy (https://policies.google.com/privacy).
Links to other services
Paying a bill takes you to our payment processor's secure page (Converge), and video visits take you to doxy.me. Information you enter there goes to those companies under their own privacy policies, not through our website.
What we do not do
We do not sell your information or share it for advertising. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels, and our form pages load nothing from any other company. We do not share your mobile number or text-message consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Who receives information
The service providers named above: Google (Google Cloud and Google Workspace) for forms, the chat and our records; Cloudflare to deliver the website; our phone and text-messaging provider for texts and calls; and Google for the map. We share health information with others only as our Notice of Privacy Practices allows or the law requires.
Do Not Track
We do not track you across other websites, so we do not change anything in response to a browser's Do Not Track signal. Google may collect information about your activity over time and across websites when the map on our home page loads.
Children
This website is not directed to children under 13. Forms for a patient under 18 should be completed by a parent or guardian.
Seeing or correcting your information
Patients can ask to see, copy or correct their health information as described in our Notice of Privacy Practices. To correct something you sent through a form, call us at (925) 289-9022 or email office@calcbh.org.
Changes to this policy
We will post any new version on this page with a new effective date, and note significant changes on our home page.
